MEP Engineer @Dubai

We are hiring for the MEP Engineer – Fit-Out Projects (Food & Hospitality)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced MEP Engineer with a strong background in the food and hospitality industry to manage and deliver MEP works for fit-out projects, including restaurants, cafés, central kitchens, and food courts. The role involves coordination, execution, and supervision of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen services, ensuring compliance with authority regulations, food safety standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities MEP Design & Coordination:

  • Review and coordinate MEP drawings for fit-out projects, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, gas, and kitchen services.
  • Coordinate with architects, interior designers, kitchen consultants, and civil teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
  • Ensure MEP designs comply with local authority requirements (DEWA/ADDC, Civil Defense, Municipality, Food Control, etc.).

Site Execution & Supervision:

  • Supervise MEP installation works on site and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor progress and resolve site issues related to space constraints, clashes, and service routing.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure proper installation of kitchen exhaust, fresh air, grease ducts, grease traps, LPG/gas systems, and drainage.

Food & Kitchen Systems:

  • Oversee installation of commercial kitchen MEP services, including:
  • Kitchen exhaust and fresh air systems
  • Hood and ducting systems
  • Grease traps and waste drainage
  • LPG / Natural Gas systems
  • Power and water supply for kitchen equipment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and operational requirements.

Testing, Commissioning & Approvals:

  • Plan and witness testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
  • Coordinate with authorities for NOCs, inspections, and final approvals.
  • Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.

Project & Cost Control:

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for timely material delivery and installation.
  • Assist in BOQ review, cost control, variations, and value engineering.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget, timeline, and quality expectations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / MEP Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of experience in MEP works for fit-out projects, preferably in restaurants, cafés, kitchens, or hospitality projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen MEP systems.
  • Experience working with local authorities and approvals is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with UAE codes and standards.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong coordination and site management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP/shop drawings
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and basic MEP software
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced fit-out environment

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in restaurant chains or international food brands
  • Knowledge of Civil Defense and Food Control approval processes
  • Immediate joiner or short notice period (if applicable)
