MEP Estimation Engineer

• Analyze drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
• Identify scope, materials, and technical requirements of the project.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for all MEP services:
• Mechanical: HVAC, ducting, piping
• Electrical: Wiring, panels, lighting, LV systems
• Plumbing: Water supply, drainage, firefighting systems
• Use manual methods or digital tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, CostX, PlanSwift, etc.)
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor work.
• Apply standard estimation practices and update rates from market trends and supplier quotes.
• Provide preliminary and detailed cost estimates during different project phases.
• Develop and review BOQs with clear item descriptions, units, and quantities.
• Ensure BOQs match project drawings and specifications.
• Assist in preparing tender documents, proposals, and pricing sheets.
• Analyze tender requirements, review addendums, and clarify queries from clients or consultants.
• Participate in bid submissions, negotiations, and post-bid reviews.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain updated quotations for materials and services.
• Evaluate quotations based on technical compliance and price.
• Propose cost-effective alternatives to materials or designs without compromising on quality or compliance.
• Support decision-making during design and procurement stages.
• Assist in budget control during execution phases.
• Compare estimated vs actual costs and provide variance analysis.
• Prepare cost reports, summaries, and presentations for internal review or client submission.
• Maintain historical cost data and estimation records for future reference.
• Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Keep updated with local regulations and pricing norms.
