MEP Estimation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical MEP Estimator with 3–5 years of UAE experience who can independently prepare accurate and competitive mechanical MEP cost estimates. The candidate must have hands-on experience in estimating high-rise residential, commercial, and industrial projects, considering all technical, commercial, and risk factors from tender stage to final submission.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare independent and detailed cost estimates for mechanical MEP systems including:
• HVAC (chilled water, DX, VRF, ventilation, smoke management)
• Plumbing & Drainage
• Fire Fighting & Fire Protection Systems
• LPG / Gas Systems
• Study and analyze tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and addendum
• Perform quantity take-offs accurately using drawings and specifications
• Develop rate analysis considering:
• Material costs
• Labor productivity
• Equipment and tools
• Subcontractor quotations
• Overheads, preliminaries, contingencies, and profit margins
• Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Prepare value engineering proposals and alternative solutions where applicable
• Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, and project teams
• Identify risks, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications in tender submissions
• Ensure compliance with UAE codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA, ADDC, DM, Civil Defense, etc.)
• Assist in post-tender clarifications, negotiations, and contract award support
• Maintain historical cost data and continuously update estimating benchmarks

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction practices in the UAE
• Ability to work independently and handle full tender estimates
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and estimating software like CCS Candy
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent understanding of local market rates and suppliers

Project Experience Required

• High-rise residential towers
• Commercial buildings (offices, malls, mixed-use)
• Industrial projects (factories, warehouses, utility buildings)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 3–5 years of relevant UAE experience in MEP estimation
• Prior experience with MEP contracting companies in the UAE is mandatory
• Experience in authority approval requirements
• Immediate availability or short notice period preferred
