Job Summary:
The MEP Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works on the construction site. This role ensures that MEP installations are carried out according to drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The MEP Foreman will manage skilled tradespeople and subcontractors, and collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure smooth execution of MEP works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate MEP works on-site, including HVAC, fire fighting, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Interpret MEP drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Ensure installation work is performed according to approved drawings, codes, and standards.
- Allocate tasks to MEP tradesmen and subcontractors and monitor progress.
- Liaise with MEP engineers and project managers to resolve technical issues.
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Monitor usage and requisition of materials and equipment.
- Maintain daily site reports, work logs, and manpower records.
- Conduct toolbox talks and enforce safety regulations at the site.
- Coordinate with other trades (civil, finishing, structural, etc.) to avoid conflicts.
- Attend coordination meetings and provide progress updates.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in MEP systems in construction projects.
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering (or related trade certification).
- Proven track record as an MEP Foreman or Supervisor in medium to large-scale projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, fire fighting, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, layouts, and shop drawings.
Skills and Competencies:
- Leadership and supervisory skills to manage teams effectively.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, IPC).
- Attention to detail and high standards of quality.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Email, etc.) is an advantage.
