MEP Planning Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled MEP Planning Engineer to join our team and support the successful execution of major MEP projects across the UAE. The ideal candidate will have strong planning, scheduling, and monitoring experience on large-scale MEP works, with the ability to coordinate effectively with project stakeholders and ensure timely delivery in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project) for MEP activities across all phases of the project.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align MEP schedules with overall project timelines.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, highlighting variances, delays, and recovery strategies.
• Monitor site progress and resource utilization, ensuring compliance with project deadlines and cost targets.
• Assist in preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims, delay analysis, and mitigation measures.
• Review contract documents, project specifications, and drawings to incorporate MEP activities into the master program.
• Provide planning input during tendering and pre-construction stages, including manpower and equipment histograms.
• Track procurement, material delivery schedules, and engineering submittals related to MEP works.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve planning-related issues.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical.
• Minimum 5 years of planning experience in large-scale MEP projects within the UAE/GCC.
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Solid understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection).
• Knowledge of project management principles, contracts (FIDIC), and claims procedures.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within strict deadlines.

Preferred

• Experience with high-rise buildings, infrastructure, and mixed-use developments.
• Membership in a professional engineering or project management body (e.g., PMI, AACEI, UAE Society of Engineers).
• Exposure to BIM-integrated planning and digital project controls.
