Job Summary:

The MEP Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules and plans for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works. The role ensures projects are executed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Scheduling
  • Prepare detailed MEP project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) for MEP activities.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to align timelines.
  • Progress Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track project progress against the baseline schedule.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc progress reports for management and clients.
  • Identify potential delays and propose corrective actions.
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on MEP planning and progress.
  • Assist in resource planning and allocation.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping
  • Maintain up-to-date records of schedules, progress reports, and project documentation.
  • Ensure all planning documents comply with company and client standards.
  • Risk & Change Management
  • Analyze schedule risks and suggest mitigation measures.
  • Update schedules to reflect approved changes in scope, design, or resources.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MEP planning or project control in construction projects.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 – mandatory.
  • Knowledge of MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
