MEP Plumbing Design & Estimation Engineer

We're hiring for MEP Plumbing Design & Estimation Engineer in Chennai location.

Position Summary:

As a Plumbing Design & Estimation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, engineering, and cost estimation of plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, stormwater).You will prepare BOQs, ensure compliance with codes/standards, and work closely with MEP, HVAC, and onsite teams to deliver high-quality modular construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering:

● Develop layouts and detailed designs for plumbing (water supply, drainage, stormwater)

● Perform hydraulic calculations, pump/tank sizing, and pipeline design.

● Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC, NFPA, TAC, and other applicable standards.

Estimation & BOQ Preparation:

● Prepare BOQs, tender documents, and detailed cost estimates for both plumbing and F&F systems.

● Review vendor quotations and support technical evaluations.

● Align estimation with project budgets and cost control requirements.

Coordination:

● Collaborate with MEP, HVAC, and electrical teams to ensure integrated design solutions.

● Coordinate with onsite engineers for the submission of LOD 500 construction drawings.

● Support client approval processes for design basis reports and material selections.

Onsite & Technical Support:

● Provide design and estimation support during project execution.

● Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance with design criteria

● Guide site teams in troubleshooting design-related challenges.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent.

● 5+ years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design & estimation

● Strong knowledge of codes and best practices in plumbing.

Skills:

● Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and BIM.

● Strong BOQ preparation and cost estimation skills.

● Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
