About the job MEP Technical office - Fluent English

We are seeking a Technical Office MEP Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for performing takeoffs and estimation for HVAC (Duct & Pipe) and Plumbing systems, including all related accessories. You will work with mechanical drawings, company-standard estimating tools, and Excel to prepare accurate project cost breakdowns.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise with a leading Mechanical Contractor in the Chicago, IL, USA area while being based in our Cairo office.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform takeoffs for HVAC (Duct & Pipe) and Plumbing systems, including accessories.
• Estimate project costs using company-standard software and Excel.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and ensure accurate material selection.
• Prepare detailed estimation reports and cost summaries.
• Collaborate with the technical office team to support tender submissions and project pricing.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Fluency in English (written & spoken).
• 13 years of experience in MEP (HVAC/Plumbing) projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings and material specifications.
• Excellent Excel skills (formulas, worksheets).
• Prior exposure to estimation and takeoff is preferred but not mandatory (training provided).

Work Arrangement

• First 3 months: On-site training at our Cairo, Egypt office (Nasr City).
• After 3 months: Work-from-home.
• Working hours: 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM Cairo time.
