MEP Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION – MEP TECHNICIAN

The MEP Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across residential or commercial properties. The role ensures reliable system performance, prompt resolution of faults, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Systems:

- Inspect, maintain, repair, and service HVAC systems (air-conditioning and ventilation).

- Maintain pumps, motors, boilers, fan-coil units, chillers, and other mechanical equipment.

- Diagnose system faults and resolve breakdowns efficiently.

- Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain detailed logs.

Electrical Systems:

- Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical installations including lighting, switches, sockets, distribution boards, and wiring.

- Troubleshoot electrical faults in units and common areas.

- Ensure compliance with UAE electrical and safety regulations.

- Assist in periodic electrical testing and certification activities.

Plumbing & Water Systems:

- Maintain plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, and sanitary fixtures.

- Service water pumps, booster systems, tanks, and piping networks.

- Address leaks, blockages, pressure issues, and other plumbing concerns.

- Ensure compliance with hygiene and water quality standards.

Property / Asset Support:

- Conduct property inspections for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing functionality.

- Coordinate with internal teams to schedule work and handle urgent maintenance.

- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities.

- Support refurbishment works, unit handovers, and contractor supervision.

Safety & Compliance:

- Follow all company health & safety procedures and UAE regulations.

- Use appropriate safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.

- Maintain proper documentation for maintenance and regulatory compliance.

- Identify improvement opportunities to enhance energy efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or Building Services.

- 3–5 years of UAE MEP experience (residential/hospitality preferred).

- Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

- Knowledge of UAE building codes, DEWA standards, and local regulations.

- Ability to work independently and handle time-sensitive tasks.

- Good communication skills; English required (Arabic is an advantage).

- Physically able to work in rooftops, plant rooms, or confined spaces.

- UAE driving license is an advantage.

Working Conditions:

- Shift work, weekend duty, and on-call availability may be required.

- Periodic travel between multiple unit locations.

- PPE must be worn during all technical tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
