MEP Utilities/Authorities Engineer - Real Estate

The Role
The Utilities / Authorities Connections Engineer is responsible for managing final utility connections and approvals for projects in the UAE. The role focuses on coordination with local authorities and utility providers to secure NOCs, permits, inspections, and final connections for power, water, sewerage, drainage, telecom, gas, and fire systems, ensuring projects achieve completion, energization, and handover on time. Key Responsibilities: • Manage all temporary and permanent utility connections (power, water, sewer, drainage, district cooling, gas, telecom/ELV). • Coordinate submissions, approvals, inspections, and final clearances with UAE authorities such as Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, Etihad Water and Electricity, and Civil Defense • Track authority comments and ensure timely responses and resubmissions. • Coordinate energization, utility activation, testing, commissioning, and final inspections. • Secure Final NOCs, connection approvals, and documentation required for completion and handover. • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and utility providers to ensure site readiness and smooth connections. • Prepare and manage authority submissions, technical documents, and compliance records. • Ensure full compliance with UAE regulations, approved drawings, and project timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or MEP Engineering • 3–7 years’ experience in utilities connections or authority coordination within the UAE • Proven experience handling final utility connections and approvals • Strong familiarity with UAE authority procedures and approval workflows Preferred Attributes: • Strong understanding of UAE utilities processes • Excellent coordination and follow-up skills • Ability to manage multiple authorities and deadlines simultaneously • Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders • High attention to documentation accuracy and compliance
