Job Title : Merchandiser Buying /Sourcing -Executive

Job Summary:

To carry out below mentioned tasks using cultural pillars of PACE (Passion, Accountability,

Collaboration, Excellence) to build Bay Window into India’s most aspirational furniture Brand.

The Buyer/Merchandiser will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and developing furniture products that align with the company’s brand positioning, quality standards, and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Sourcing & Development

  • Identify and source high-quality furniture products from domestic and international markets.
  • Collaborate with designers and suppliers to develop exclusive furniture ranges.
  • Ensure products meet quality, safety, and durability standards.

2. Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and margin.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regularly and address any quality or service issues.

3. Assortment Planning & Merchandising

  • Plan seasonal furniture collections based on market trends, customer preferences, and sales data.
  • Ensure a balanced assortment across categories (living, dining, bedroom, furniture, etc.).
  • Work with visual merchandising and marketing teams to create impactful product displays and promotions.

4. Inventory & Order Management

  • Monitor stock levels and manage reordering to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team for smooth delivery and supply chain flow.
  • Manage SKU lifecycle, including product introductions and discontinuations.

5. Market Research & Trend Analysis

  • Stay updated on global furniture design trends, materials, finishes, and consumer buying patterns.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to maintain a competitive product offering.
  • Recommend new product categories or improvements to existing lines.

6. Financial & Sales Performance

  • Work with the finance team to set cost prices, retail prices, and profit margins.
  • Track sales performance of product lines and take corrective actions where necessary.
  • Achieve budgeted sales, profit, and inventory turnover targets.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of the furniture industry, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales and market data.
  • Good understanding of design aesthetics and consumer preferences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and inventory management tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, or related field.
  • 1–5 years of experience as a Buyer, Merchandiser, or Category Manager in the furniture/home décor industry.
  • Experience in domestic and international sourcing (China, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with import documentation, quality inspections, and compliance standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
