Position Overview
The Metal Foreman will supervise and coordinate fabrication, welding, and installation of metal structures used in signage, cladding, frames, and interior fit-out works. This role requires hands-on expertise in metal works, team leadership, and the ability to ensure high-quality fabrication and finishing in compliance with project requirements and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead metal fabrication and welding teams in workshop and on-site.
- Review engineering drawings, cutting lists, and fabrication details to plan work activities.
- Oversee fabrication, assembly, and installation of metal frames, signage structures, brackets, cladding, and support systems.
- Ensure accuracy in cutting, bending, welding, grinding, and finishing processes.
- Check quality of welds, joints, and finished products to meet company and client specifications.
- Allocate manpower, materials, and tools effectively to meet project schedules.
- Ensure all works comply with Qatar’s safety regulations and company HSE standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and other foremen for smooth execution.
- Train and guide welders, fabricators, and helpers to improve productivity and workmanship.
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
- Troubleshoot fabrication or installation issues on-site and provide solutions.
- Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, and material requests.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / Technical Certification in Metal Fabrication, Welding, or Mechanical works.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/foreman role.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques (cutting, bending, rolling, welding – MIG/TIG/Arc, grinding, polishing).
- Experience in signage metal works (aluminum, steel, stainless steel) and cladding preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and fabrication details.
- Skilled in using fabrication machinery, tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and safe handling of fabrication tools and equipment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
