Metal Plant Operator

Objective:

Metal processing plant operators, operate, monitor, adjust and maintain, single process machinery and equipment to process and convert mineral ores and refine, harden, roll and extrude metals.

Responsibilities

Technical responsibilities

1.Set up machines, adjust settings, and monitor operation to ensure accurate and consistent output.

2.Load and unload raw materials (metal sheets, rods, etc.) onto machines using appropriate handling equipment.

3.Make necessary adjustments to machines to achieve desired product specifications.

4.Diagnose and address minor technical issues or malfunctions during operation.

5.Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvements and increased operational efficiency.

6.High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or relevant certifications in metalworking or machine operation are a plus.

7.Previous experience as a machine operator in a metalworking or manufacturing environment.

8.Familiarity with metalworking machinery such as CNC machines, lathes, mills, and grinders.

9. Basic understanding of metal properties, measurements, and quality control techniques.

General responsibilities

1.Inspect finished products for defects, deviations from specifications, and ensure they meet quality standards.

2.Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components.

3.Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

4.Monitor machine operations to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently.

5.Identify and address any abnormalities or deviations from standard operation.

6.Maintain accurate production logs, quality reports, and maintenance records.

7.Report any issues or discrepancies to the Plant Supervisor or Maintenance team.

8.Strong attention to detail and precision in work.

9.Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

10.Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow them rigorously.

11.Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

12.Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials when required.
