UDesign School of Art is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Middle & High School Science Teacher to bring energy, creativity, and curiosity into our science classrooms! In this role, you’ll guide students through advanced experiments, STEM projects, and science competitions designed to deepen their understanding of scientific concepts and inspire a love for discovery.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about hands-on learning, can create stimulating and age-appropriate lessons, and enjoys challenging students to think critically and explore science beyond the textbook. This position focuses on classroom instruction and interactive projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging, hands-on science lessons for middle and high school students across various scientific disciplines.
  • Design and implement advanced experiments and STEM-based projects that build critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Encourage student participation in science fairs and competitions, guiding them through project design and presentation.
  • Create a positive, collaborative classroom atmosphere that supports curiosity and independent exploration.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs and interests of diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with the UDesign team to enhance program quality and student experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • Minimum 1 year of formal teaching experience (excluding substitute teaching), preferably with middle or high school students.
  • Experience creating and implementing science lesson plans, labs, or project-based curriculum.
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for teaching science in creative, hands-on ways.
  • Availability to teach weekday evenings and/or Saturdays.
