MIG Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding on structural steel and metal components using MIG (Metal Inert Gas) processes. The role ensures all welding works are carried out in accordance with approved welding procedures, safety standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG welding on structural and fabricated steel components as per drawings and instructions.
  • Set up welding machines, select proper consumables, and adjust parameters for optimal weld quality.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions.
  • Ensure welds meet specified tolerances, alignment, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct self-inspection of welds before submission for QC inspection.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in safe and clean condition.
  • Report any defects, material issues, or non-conformances to the supervisor.
  • Follow safety regulations, wear appropriate PPE, and participate in toolbox talks.
  • Assist in other fabrication-related duties when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Technical Certificate or Trade Qualification in Welding or Fabrication.
  • Minimum 2–6 years of experience as a MIG Welder in fabrication or industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of various welding processes (MIG, SMAW, FCAW) is an advantage.
  • Experience in oil & gas, structural, or heavy fabrication projects preferred.
  • Valid welding qualification (WQT/WPS) will be an added advantage.

  • Diploma (Preferred)

Experience:

  • MIG Welder in fabrication or industrial projects: 3 years (Preferred)
  • oil & gas, structural, or heavy fabrication projects : 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Valid welding qualification (WQT/WPS) (Preferred)
  • Technical Certificate in Welding or Fabrication (Preferred)
