Position Title: Minnesota Dedicated Manager
Position Reports to: Regional Director of Operations
Position Summary: Under general supervision, oversees team of Operations Support Specialist; works closely with managers, customers, drivers, and co-workers, to ensure load and delivery commitments are fulfilled; strives to maintain and improve driver retention at all times; ensures company productivity goals are met; strives to continually improve the work environment, workload, efficiency, and effectiveness, of the MN operations team.

Directly supervises MN operations personnel; responsible for the overall efficiency, productivity, and success of the MN Dedicated Operation.

Works closely with managers, co-workers, customers, and drivers, to coordinate and ensure load and delivery commitments are being fulfilled; monitors load/ driver movement; oversees, approves and coordinates relays as necessary; determines driver capacity to carry out specific assignments to meet customer needs; determines alternate plans in the threat of service shortfalls.

Strives to always maintain and improve driver retention efforts; monitors and approves driver accessorial pay, ensures driver utilization is always maximized, ensures drivers are routed home when scheduled, addresses and resolves driver’s concerns in a timely manner; helps the team with messages and phones during peak times; dispatches drivers when necessary; ensures the MN team and drivers have the tools needed to be successful.

Ensures company productivity goals are met; advises team regarding increasing productivity and efficiency measurements; observes and manages driver’s Hours Of Service to achieve maximum efficiency; improves utilization through efficient load planning, anticipating and avoiding service problems, setting contingency plans, and understanding unique characteristics of individual shippers, consignees, and drivers; secures customer and broker freight as headhauls and backhauls when applicable.

Evaluates and recommends training for operations team; trains with other related departments as necessary according to company needs; participates in company-wide training events; works to maintain mutual respect and professionalism with co-workers and subordinates to sustain a positive team environment.

Oversees hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and corrective action of MN operations personnel; monitors workflow processes among staff; assumes responsibility as key resource person for MN operations staff.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 1 year management experience required.
Highly sought-after skills: Experience in transportation; ability and desire to contribute equally to a team environment; ability to communicate clearly and effectively via phone & messages; proactivity minded, and solution oriented.
Beneficial skills: Experience with TMS platforms (ICC/ AS400/ AOS), commercial GPS, DOT rules & regulations.
Physical Qualifications: Ability to lift 20 lbs. Long periods of sitting, use of telephone & computer required.
