Job Summary: Imagine Summer Reading Club is a summer program targeting newcomer-level multilingual learner (ML) students in grades K-8. The summer program will utilize Imagine Learning and Picturing Writing programs.
General Responsibilities/Duties:

Assists and supports summer program teachers' efforts to provide appropriate accommodations for ML students during the summer program

Provides tutoring in English language utilizing summer program materials

Assists with playground and field trip supervision, breakfast and lunch duty, and bus duty

May assist with parent-teacher communication

Students will be divided into two groups; one ML Tutor is assigned to lower elementary grade level group support, and one ML Tutor is assigned to upper elementary/middle school grade level group support
Salary: Grade 6 in accordance with Article 7.11 of the ESSA Negotiated Agreement
Program Dates: May 28th - June 18th, 2026
Work Schedule: Part-Time, Work Hours Determined by Supervisor
Job Qualifications
The following are required:
-
48 hours of college credit, an associate's degree, or a paraprofessional assessment

Experience tutoring in reading

Experience communicating with and relating to persons from diverse language and cultural backgrounds
Physical and Mental Demands
The physical demands of this position require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing. Requires near vision to write and read printed materials and computer screens. Requires hearing and speaking to exchange information on the telephone or in person. The employee is regularly required to reach with his/her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to use carts, ladders, dollies, and stools to assist in moving or shelving items. Requires sufficient arm, hand, finger dexterity to operate a keyboard and other office equipment. Repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers may also be required. Additionally, the employee must be able to communicate by oral and written means in an appropriate business manner and have cognitive skills to understand instructions, readily recall facts and details, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
