Crane Operator – Oil & Gas (Abu Dhabi)

Job Summary

Operate heavy lifting equipment (mobile, crawler, or tower cranes) to safely lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and structures in oil & gas field environments. Work closely with rigging teams and follow strict safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cranes for lifting pipes, drilling equipment, structural components, and containers
• Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Interpret load charts, lifting plans, and hand signals from riggers
• Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
• Coordinate with supervisors, riggers, and safety officers
• Monitor weather conditions (especially wind limits for lifting operations)
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately
• Maintain logs of crane operations and inspections

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 years of experience as a crane operator in oil & gas, construction, or offshore projects
• Strong knowledge of:
• Load charts and crane capacity
• Rigging techniques and lifting procedures
• Site safety standards (HSE compliance)
• Experience working in:
• Refineries
• Drilling rigs
• Pipeline or EPC projects

Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid crane operator license (UAE or internationally recognized)
• Certifications such as:
• ADNOC approval (preferred for Abu Dhabi projects)
• Third-party certification (e.g., TUV, LEEA)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic English communication skills (Arabic is a plus)

Safety & Compliance

• Strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) policies
• Knowledge of:
• Risk assessment procedures
• Emergency response protocols
• PPE requirements

⏰ Working Conditions

• Rotational shifts (especially offshore: e.g., 28/28 or 21/21)
• Work in extreme weather (heat, dust, offshore conditions)
• Physically demanding environment

• Salary Range (Typical in Abu Dhabi)
• AED 4000+ (depending on experience & certifications)
