Position Overview

We are seeking Mobile Crisis Response Specialists to join our Rapid Crisis Response Team. In this role, you will provide on-site crisis stabilization, suicide prevention, de-escalation, and connection to follow-up care for individuals of all ages experiencing a mental health or behavioral crisis.

You will work in the community, traveling to homes, schools, public spaces, and other locations to assess risk, stabilize crises, and develop safety plans.

This is a high-impact role for LPCs, LCSWs, LMHP-Rs, LMHP-Es, and QMHP-eligible professionals who want to make a real difference—while earning $100/hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond rapidly to crisis calls in community settings
  • Conduct risk assessments for self-harm, harm to others, and other safety concerns
  • Provide trauma-informed crisis stabilization and intervention
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, hospitals, WTCSB staff, and community agencies
  • Develop safety and wellness plans tailored to each individual’s needs
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation within required timelines
  • Adhere to all WTCSB program guidelines, confidentiality rules, and ethical standards

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field
  • LPC, LCSW, LMHP-E, LMHP-R, or QMHP eligibility in Virginia
  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (ID/DD)
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
  • Ability to pass a Virginia state background check and drug screening
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in mobile crisis, REACH, RC5 rapid response, or emergency mental health services
  • Training in trauma-informed care, crisis negotiation, and suicide intervention
  • Familiarity with Western Tidewater Community Services Board protocols
