Montessori Preschool Teachers

Lefferts Gardens Montessori is looking for individuals to join our Preschool Program. We are expanding our program and are hiring . We have a supportive and successful Administrative and teaching team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to presenting lessons, preparing material, recording student progress, maintaining classroom order, re-stocking supplies, setting up work and snack areas, as well as ensuring the classroom is clean and prepared for the following school day. As role models, candidates must possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as excellent classroom management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Montessori Philosophy
  • New York State Teaching Certificate, preferred
  • Montessori Certified or enrolled in a MACTE or similar accredited teacher training program (preferably AMS or AMI), a plus.
  • Holds a college degree preferably in early childhood education with at least one year's teaching experience.

Established in 1986, Lefferts Gardens Montessori (LGM) is a progressive, independent Pre-school and Elementary school located in the historic Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn. We are fortunate to have cultural resources nearby only minutes away from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park Zoo, Brooklyn Public Library and other cultural sites.
