Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Montessori-based lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and individual student needs.
- Create a prepared environment that encourages exploration, independence, and hands-on learning experiences.
- Observe and assess children's developmental progress, tailoring activities to support their growth in areas such as literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies.
- Foster strong communication with parents and guardians through regular updates on student progress and classroom activities.
- Support early intervention efforts for children requiring additional assistance or special education services.
- Maintain accurate records of student development, attendance, and assessments in compliance with educational standards.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in an early childhood education setting is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Montessori teaching methods and philosophy is highly preferred.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Background in working with children who have special needs or require early intervention services is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring practices related to early childhood education.
