Position Overview:
The Mortgage Recruiter plays a key role in driving growth by identifying and securing high‑performing Loan Originators and supporting branch expansion initiatives. This role combines strategic recruiting with candidate engagement, including scheduling and hosting appointments, communicating opportunities, and guiding candidates through the hiring process. The Mortgage Recruiter proactively sources experienced talent, builds industry relationships, and maintains ongoing communication to support onboarding and long‑term retention. In partnership with branches and leadership, this role contributes to improving sales processes, marketing execution, and overall branch performance. The Mortgage Recruiter helps support production, elevate market presence, and scale organizational growth.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the growth of experienced and developing branches by providing guidance, resources, and operational support that enhances production, business development, and team expansion.
  • Assist branch managers with recruiting efforts by identifying, attracting, and onboarding qualified Loan Originators to expand branch capacity.
  • Identify high‑performing loan originators and branch teams in the market and develop targeted outreach strategies to engage potential candidates.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and conduct recruiting appointments, including introductory calls, interviews, and follow‑up meetings with prospective Loan Originators.
  • Lead candidate engagement throughout the recruiting cycle by initiating outreach, hosting appointments, and guiding candidates through each stage of the process.
  • Manage the closing process with prospective recruits by addressing questions, aligning expectations, and supporting decision‑making to secure successful hires.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with newly hired Loan Originators to support onboarding, engagement, and long‑term retention, including participation in retention‑focused initiatives such as potential 1‑year and 2‑year milestone bonus programs.
  • Partner with executive‑level VPs, Regional Managers, Directors, Branch Managers, and sales leaders to source, qualify, interview, and hire top‑producing Loan Originators.
  • Conduct proactive recruiting activities, including passive‑candidate outreach, networking, industry relationship‑building, and direct engagement with high‑performing originators.
  • Develop and execute action plans for growth in target markets, including tracking metrics from initial contact through successful hire and leveraging multiple sourcing channels to identify talent.
  • Direct passive searches utilizing Boolean searches, outreach calls, social platforms, and networking techniques to build a pipeline of experienced Loan Originators.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to stay informed about current and future hiring needs, market conditions, and opportunities for branch expansion.
  • Partner with branches to identify opportunities to improve sales processes, marketing execution, team performance, and recruiting effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with branch leadership to reinforce the coaching model and ensure consistent adoption of best practices across the retail network.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience as a recruiter in the mortgage industry.
  • Experience developing targeted recruiting strategies for specific markets, including tracking metrics, managing pipelines, and adjusting approaches based on results.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the capability to influence, collaborate, and establish trust across all levels.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, balancing recruiting activity, branch support, and coaching responsibilities.
