Job Description


MS NOW is seeking a Motion Designer to join our Creative & Marketing team, with a strong
focus on on-air promotion, marketing campaigns, and brand storytelling. This role supports MS
NOW programming while collaborating across select CNBC creative initiatives, creating motion
design that drives audience engagement across live television, promotional, and branded
platforms.


This position is ideal for a designer who can work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing craft,
thrives in deadline-driven environments, and understands how strong promotional design
supports both editorial and marketing goals.


Job Purpose
The Motion Designer designs and animates high-quality motion graphics that support MS
NOW’s promotional strategy, brand identity, and editorial content. Working closely with Creative
Directors, Art Directors, Senior Motion Designers, and Producers, this role contributes to on-air
promos, marketing campaigns, show packages, and daily programming—often under tight
timelines.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Design and animate motion graphics with a primary focus on on-air promotion,
marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives
  • Create promotional assets including show opens, branded packages, transitions,
explainers, and full-screen animations
  • Support daily programming graphics as needed, including lower thirds and editorial
animations
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Senior Motion Designers, and
Producers to deliver visually compelling, on-brand work
  • Execute creative efficiently while managing multiple assignments and competing
deadlines
  • Participate in all phases of production, from concept development and storyboards
through final delivery
  • Respond quickly and thoughtfully to creative feedback and shifting priorities
  • Adapt designs rapidly for last-minute changes, breaking news, and time-sensitive
promotional needs
  • Support cross-brand promotional initiatives and campaigns with CNBC creative teams
as needed
  • Maintain organized project files and follow established workflows, technical standards,
and delivery specifications

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional motion design experience, preferably in broadcast,
news, or media environments
  • A thorough understanding of the 12 Principles of Animation and how to apply them in
broadcast and promotional work
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe After Effects
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Solid understanding of broadcast production workflows and delivery formats
  • Strong design fundamentals, including typography, composition, color, timing, and
motion hierarchy
  • Proven ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high creative
standards
  • A strong motion design reel or portfolio showcasing promotional, broadcast, or brand
work

Eligibility Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as
required by promotional and news schedules
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design, or a related field, or equivalent
professional experience

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience creating motion design for on-air promotion, marketing campaigns, or brand
initiatives
  • Experience working at a network, broadcast design agency, or media company
  • Knowledge of 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or similar
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere and basic video editing workflows
  • Familiarity with sound design or audio-driven animation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to balance speed, accuracy, and creative quality in a fast-paced environment


Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.

Hourly Rate: $55.00-65.00 per hour
