MPD Drilling Supervisor

Job Brief:

Are you an experienced drilling professional with hands-on exposure to Managed Pressure Drilling operations? Do you have the capability to supervise MPD activities on the rig and ensure safe, efficient execution?

We are hiring MPD Drilling Supervisors for a leading oil & gas operation in Kuwait. The role involves supervising day-to-day MPD drilling activities, coordinating with rig crews and service providers, and ensuring strict adherence to safety, operational, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operations on the rig.
• Ensure proper installation, testing, and operation of MPD equipment including RCDs, choke manifolds, and control systems.
• Maintain wellbore pressure within defined limits to prevent kicks, losses, and formation damage.
• Coordinate closely with drilling engineers, MPD engineers, rig crews, and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with approved MPD procedures, HSE policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor real-time drilling data and report abnormalities or risks to the drilling team.
• Support troubleshooting of MPD equipment and operational issues.
• Prepare daily drilling and MPD activity reports.
• Ensure shift handovers and communication are conducted effectively.

Required Qualification / Experience / Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of drilling experience, with hands-on exposure to Managed Pressure Drilling.
• Strong understanding of well control fundamentals and drilling operations.
• Experience working directly on rigs in supervisory or lead roles.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders under operational pressure.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Willingness to work long hours and rotational schedules.
