The MRD Executive is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and safeguarding patient medical records in both physical and electronic formats. The role ensures timely retrieval of records, compliance with hospital policies, and adherence to legal and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Records Management
- Maintain patient medical records (inpatient, outpatient, emergency, etc.) systematically.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all records.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of patient records.
- Organize, store, and index records for easy retrieval.
- Data Entry & Documentation
- Enter patient details into hospital information systems.
- Update medical records with clinical notes, diagnostic reports, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure timely scanning, filing, and archiving of medical records.
- Compliance & Quality
- Adhere to hospital policies, NABH/JCI standards, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain retention schedules for medical records.
- Assist in hospital audits, medico-legal cases, and quality checks.
- Coordination & Communication
- Provide records to doctors, nurses, and authorized staff when required.
- Coordinate with various hospital departments for medical record updates.
- Respond to patient or legal requests for records as per hospital protocol.
- Reporting & Monitoring
- Generate reports related to admissions, discharges, deaths, and medico-legal cases.
- Maintain statistical data for hospital management.
- Monitor record room operations for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Graduate in any discipline (preferably with a diploma/certification in Medical Records Management or Hospital Administration).
- Experience: 1–3 years in medical records / hospital administration.
- Knowledge of HIS (Hospital Information System) software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
