Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, also referred to as MRI Technologists, utilize magnetic resonance imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. MRI Technologists must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions, prepare and operate MRI equipment, position patients correctly, and effectively record the requested diagnostic images. A
PRN caregiver in this position works varying days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 3:00PM – 11:00PM. Working 4 shifts per 6 week period will be required.


A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals and objectives for the department.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and economical operation.

  • Coordinate and answers questions regarding scheduling, networking, informatics, and patient information.

  • Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination.

  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation, contacts service if necessary.

  • Provide copies of imaging studies in a timely manner.

  • Perform routine imaging, emergent, invasive and all special procedures according to the policy/protocol manual and written orders.

  • Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule.

  • Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned.

  • Aid other associates in the department upon completion of duties or as assigned by a supervisor.


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within one year of hire

  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulatories


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Two years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting

Physical Requirements:

  • Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.

  • Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand.

  • Requires sitting at a workstation or desk; requires standing; work may include occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs.

  • Work requires finger dexterity and eye hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
