Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Maintenance
- Server Management: Install, configure, monitor, and maintain the MT4/MT5 servers, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security for both live and demo environments.
- System Configuration: Manage platform settings, including user access, security permissions, and data backups.
- Updates and Upgrades: Apply regular system updates, patches, and enhancements, and manage the installation and configuration of plugins, APIs, and liquidity bridges.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues in real-time, such as latency, price feed errors, platform freezes, or connectivity problems.
- Business Continuity: Implement and test failover procedures and disaster recovery plans to ensure high availability and business continuity.
- Reporting: Generate performance, trade, and reconciliation reports for management and internal teams.
Trading & Risk Management
- Instrument Configuration: Create and manage trading instruments (symbols), groups, spreads, commissions, leverage, and margin settings within the platform.
- Monitoring: Proactively monitor live trading activity, client positions, and overall market exposure/risk in real-time.
- Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with the Risk Management team to implement risk controls and identify and escalate critical risk issues or trading anomalies.
- Liquidity Management: Oversee and optimize connectivity to liquidity providers and external systems, often involving the FIX protocol.
- Back-Office Support: Perform back-office operations such as account setup, allocations, and asset configuration for various products (FX, CFDs, equities).
Collaboration & Support
- Internal Support: Provide technical support and guidance on platform-related queries to internal teams, including IT, Dealing, Risk, and Compliance.
- Client Support: Investigate and resolve complex trading and account-related queries that are escalated from the client support team.
- Compliance: Ensure the platform and its operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and assist in audit procedures.
Essential Requirements & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience (typically 2+ years) as an MT4/MT5 Administrator, System Administrator, or similar role within a Forex/CFD brokerage or financial services firm.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the MT4/MT5 architecture (Manager, Dealer, Admin Terminals, Data Feeds) and server administration (Windows Server, SQL databases, networking).
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of Forex, CFDs, derivatives, trading mechanics, and general market risk concepts.
- Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and system management is often preferred.
- Communication: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
