Lab Devices India is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Mutual Fund Accountant to join our finance team in Al Khor. This position will play a key role in managing the accounting for mutual fund operations, ensuring the accurate preparation of financial statements, NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations, and performance reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mutual fund structures, investment accounting, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting of mutual funds, including monitoring of cash flows, investments, distributions, and NAV calculations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for mutual fund portfolios
- Reconcile investment portfolios, dividends, and interest income to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support fund managers with financial analysis and performance reporting to investors
- Assist in processing and tracking subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers of mutual fund units
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP), and internal policies
- Assist with the preparation of investor reports and tax filings
- Perform detailed analysis of fund expenses, returns, and asset allocation
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities during audits and compliance checks
- Monitor and assess market movements, investment valuations, and fund performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Proven experience in mutual fund accounting or investment fund reporting
- Strong understanding of mutual fund structures, accounting principles, and performance metrics
- Experience with financial software and fund accounting platforms (e.g., Investran, Advent, or similar tools)
- Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and financial regulations applicable to mutual funds
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or CAIA are highly preferred
- Experience working with asset management firms, mutual fund houses, or financial institutions
- Familiarity with fund administration, investor reporting, and tax regulations
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
