Nanny/ Household Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, energetic Nanny/Household Manager to join our family long-term. The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, and committed to creating a stable, nurturing, and positive home environment.

This role combines attentive childcare and household management. Our son is 8 years old, nonspeaking, and autistic. He thrives when active and engaged, and enjoys parks, playgrounds, swimming, and outdoor activities. The candidate should be comfortable keeping up with an active child while providing structure and support.

Travel and providing transportation is an important part of our lifestyle. We frequently travel domestically and internationally. The candidate must be flexible, willing to travel, and have a valid passport. Candidate must be able to provide transportation from Altoona to Pittsburgh on occasions.

Weekend availability is required, including transporting our son to activities and outings. A clean driving record and comfort with regular driving are essential.

We are looking for someone who values consistency, adaptability, and becoming an integral part of a long-term family team.

Duties

• Provide attentive and loving care and ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children’s dietary needs and preferences
• Engage children in educational activities, playtime, and developmental exercises to promote growth and learning
• Manage household chores such as cleaning, laundry, organizing supplies, and maintaining a tidy living space
• Assist with transportation to activities, appointments, or errands as needed
• Assist with Transportation to Blairsville and Altoona, PA.
• Support child with teaching basic skills, and fostering independence. ex, brushing teeth independently, clothing himself, etc.
• Administer first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or health concerns
• Provide compassionate, respectful support to individuals with disabilities, honoring their unique strengths and needs while promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion.

Requirements

• Proven experience in nannying or childcare roles with references demonstrating reliability and professionalism
• Drivers licence
• Compassionate caregiver with excellent communication skills and patience
• Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
• Skills in meal preparation and cooking healthy meals for children and the household
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
• First aid certification is required; CPR certification is preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
• Flexibility
• Passport, if traveling

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
