Compensation: $85,000 – $110,000 Base Salary + Bonus Eligibility

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a National Project Manager to oversee contract-based construction projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with contractors, architects, manufacturers, and project stakeholders.

The National Project Manager will manage project schedules, procurement, documentation, financial performance, and communication across multiple projects while delivering a high level of customer service. This role requires the ability to work independently while coordinating closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all project documentation including contracts, budgets, specifications, submittals, and change orders .

  • Develop and maintain project timelines , coordinating procurement, material delivery, and installation schedules.

  • Communicate regularly with contractors, architects, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.

  • Participate in jobsite meetings, coordination calls, and field verification as needed.

  • Review and approve shop drawings and coordinate revisions with project stakeholders.

  • Coordinate project phases including material scheduling, mechanical locking systems, and pre-installation activities .

  • Prepare and manage change orders , pricing adjustments, back charges, and warranty-related issues.

  • Maintain accurate project records and provide billing documentation to the accounting team.

  • Oversee project closeouts , including punch lists, O&M manuals, and warranty documentation.

  • Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers , delegating responsibilities as appropriate.

  • Participate in internal project management meetings and continue developing product and industry knowledge.

  • Monitor project budgets and performance to maintain target gross profit margins .

Internal & External Collaboration

This role works closely with internal departments including Estimating, Purchasing, Scheduling, Accounts Receivable, and Shipping/Receiving .

Externally, the Project Manager will maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors, Owners, Architects, Manufacturers, and Manufacturer Representatives .

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience in the doors, frames, and hardware industry , or related construction specialty trades.

  • Prior experience as an Assistant Project Manager within the industry is strongly preferred.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (not required).

  • Door and Hardware Institute (DHI) certification (DHT or similar) preferred but not required.

  • Ability to manage projects independently with strong attention to detail and organization.

  • Experience working with ERP systems such as NAV or similar project management platforms .

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools .

  • Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships while resolving issues professionally.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required.

Working Environment

This position is primarily based in an office environment , with frequent computer and phone use. The role requires regular sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.

Occasional travel to job sites may be required for project meetings, field verification, and coordination with construction teams.
