Job purpose

BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering Naval Specialist Training (NST) at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS). Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for delivery of common content for all NST streams and Hull Technician (HT) stream specific content.

Job accountabilities
  • The post holder is responsible for:
  • Delivering Naval Speciality Training curriculum, and particularly Hull Technician specific elements.
  • Supporting invigilation activities for assessments.
  • Supporting remedial training activities.
  • Writing assessment materials.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of courseware materials and media.
  • Writing Trainee reports as required to meet customer requirements.
  • The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.
  • The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by the NST Management Team, which aligns with Company business.
Recruitment specification
  • Graduate of advanced military trade schools, industrial equivalents or relevant educational establishments.
  • Completion of an accredited Instructional Techniques course.
  • Strong practical experience in their speciality.
  • Recent instructional experience within the last six years.
  • Hold a minimum of City & Guilds 2850-53 qualification.
  • Have experience with MMA welding, sheet metal work and Glass Fibre Repair (GRP) techniques
