NDT Level 3

Gulf Helicopters is seeking an experienced NDT Level 3 professional to lead and enhance their Non-Destructive Testing program within a dynamic maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment. The role focuses on ensuring inspection integrity, safety, and operational efficiency through procedure development, training, and collaboration.


The NDT Level 3 is responsible to lead and advance the NDT program within a dynamic MRO environment by leveraging extensive expertise in aerospace NDT methods, regulatory compliance, and technical oversight. The role aims to ensure the highest standards of inspection integrity, safety, and operational efficiency through the development and implementation of robust NDT procedures, continuous personnel training, and strategic collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The objective is to uphold airworthiness and quality assurance across aircraft components while fostering innovation and excellence in NDT practices.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Program Management & Development:

  • Develop, establish, qualify, and approve NDT procedures, techniques, and written practices for all applicable NDT methods (e.g., Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, etc.).
  • Maintain and update the NDT Quality Manual and all related documentation in accordance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret codes, standards, specifications, and customer requirements related to NDT inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Introduce and implement new NDT processes, techniques, and technologies to enhance inspection capabilities and efficiency.

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance:

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for all NDT activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inspections performed on aircraft structures, components, and materials.
  • Perform and oversee specialized NDT inspections as required.

Training & Mentorship:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, incorporating all tasks, milestones, and deliverables to ensure project timelines are accurately represented.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements, establish priorities, and define project scope.
  • Monitor project progress against established schedules, identifying deviations, delays, and potential risks, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates on schedule performance, resource utilization, and potential impacts on project outcomes.
  • Analyze project data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern, and recommend appropriate adjustments to schedules and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources needed for project execution.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing project schedules, progress, and performance indicators for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior planning engineers and project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in project scheduling and management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in project management and scheduling to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards in all aspects of project scheduling and management.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials Science, or equivalent) or a related technical field is highly preferred.


  • Certificates: NDT LVL II & III Qualified in UT, ET, MT and PT, with RT and Acid etch qualifications desirable.


  • Experience: 8-10 years of progressive experience in Non-Destructive Testing with a significant portion at NDT Level 3.

About You:

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing NDT procedures. Demonstrated experience in training NDT personnel
  • In-depth knowledge of NDT principles, theories, and advanced techniques across various methods.
  • Thorough understanding of aviation regulations and industry specifications (e.g., ASTM).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex NDT data and make sound technical judgments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing clear, concise procedures and reports, and effectively interacting with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced MRO environment.
