We’re Hiring: QC NDT Technician
Join our Quality & NDT team and play a vital role in ensuring material integrity, safety, and compliance across critical fabrication and construction projects.
Reporting to:
Assistant Manager – NDT (Level III)
Minimum Qualifications
-
ITI / Diploma in
Mechanical
,
Metallurgy
, or related technical field
-
High‑school certificate may be considered with strong relevant experience
Minimum Experience
-
3–5 years
of hands‑on PMI testing experience (shop or site)
-
Experience with
welds, base materials, piping, and pressure equipment
is preferred
Key Responsibilities
Positive Material Identification (PMI)
-
Perform PMI testing on
base materials, welds, and components
using XRF/OES analysers as per approved procedures
-
Ensure PMI equipment is
calibrated, valid, and verified
daily
-
Verify material grade and alloy composition against
material standards and project specifications
-
Conduct PMI at required
locations, quantities, and frequencies
per drawings, ITPs, and client requirements
-
Prepare accurate PMI reports and submit for QC/NDT Engineer review
-
Immediately report
non‑conforming or suspect results
-
Ensure proper surface preparation and correct analyser positioning for reliable readings
-
Maintain strict
traceability
between tested items, heat numbers, and identification markings
-
Follow all
radiation safety
and site
HSE rules
when using XRF equipment
-
Support client, third‑party, and regulatory inspections related to PMI activities
-
Assist in continuous improvement of PMI practices under QC/NDT leadership
Hardness Testing
-
Perform hardness testing on
base metal, weld metal, and HAZ
in accordance with approved procedures and applicable codes
-
Ensure hardness testing equipment is
calibrated and verified
using reference blocks
-
Prepare surfaces properly to ensure
accurate and repeatable
readings
-
Select the appropriate hardness method (
Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, UCI, Leeb
) as per project requirements
-
Conduct hardness testing
before and after PWHT
, ensuring compliance with acceptance criteria
-
Prepare accurate hardness test reports and submit for QC/NDT Inspector review
-
Report any
non‑conforming results
immediately
-
Ensure testing is performed at correct
locations, quantities, and frequencies
-
Maintain proper handling, storage, and traceability of hardness testing equipment
-
Comply with all
HSE requirements, work permits, and site safety rules
-
Support audits, inspections, and witness activities
-
Maintain confidentiality and ensure test records remain retrievable
