NEPHROLOGIST - NAURU DEPLOYMENT

NEPHROLOGIST

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Nephrologist to join our healthcare team on Nauru Island. This position plays a vital role in providing comprehensive kidney care services to patients, managing both acute and chronic renal diseases, and contributing to the development of sustainable nephrology services on the island.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated specialist to make a meaningful impact in a community-oriented and resourceful healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases.
  • Provide expertise in dialysis (hemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis) management and supervision.
  • Develop and monitor individualized treatment and care plans.
  • Collaborate with general practitioners, internists, nurses, and dietitians to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Oversee renal function testing and interpret laboratory and imaging results.
  • Educate patients and families about kidney health, disease prevention, and treatment compliance.
  • Support and train local healthcare professionals in nephrology-related care.
  • Contribute to public health and preventive medicine programs focused on renal disease prevention.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records in compliance with local and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with recognized specialization in Nephrology.
  • Valid medical license and eligibility .
  • Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization clinical experience.
  • Experience in dialysis management and chronic kidney disease care.
  • Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a small island healthcare environment.
