Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for maintenance, and optimization of the hospital’s wired and wireless network infrastructure. This role ensures secure, high-performance, and reliable network services to support clinical and administrative hospital operations while complying with national healthcare regulatory requirements and international best practices.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Ensure day-to-day activities are properly performed in line with policies and procedures
  • Follow-up on escalated cases/issues of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Administer, monitor, and optimize the hospital’s LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall infrastructure.
  • Implement and enforce network segmentation for clinical, administrative, and guest networks.
  • network security best practices and ensure compliance.
  • Manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPN configurations.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments and support vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical network issues.
  • Participate in IT projects involving network design, deployment, and optimization.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities according to change management processes.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify bottlenecks, performance degradation, and connectivity issues.
  • Maintain optimal network uptime according to agreed SLAs and operational KPIs.
  • Generate periodic performance reports and make recommendations for network improvements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior network administrators and IT support teams.
Requirements

3–5 years of experience in network administration, with at least 2–3 years in a healthcare environment preferred.

In-depth knowledge of hospital networking systems (wired/wireless), VPN, firewall configurations, and secure network practices.

Familiarity with MOH, CBAHI, JCI, and NCA compliance frameworks.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
