Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain Cisco routers and switches, ensuring robust LAN/WAN performance and reliability.
- Implement and manage Cisco firewall technologies such as ASA, Firepower, or FTD including firewall rule creation, VPNs, high availability, and logging.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network security incidents, conducting root cause analyses and managing incident response across routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Configure and manage VPNs (IPsec, SSL) and ensure secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity.
- Maintain network security policies, enforce ACLs, and manage firewall rulebase changes in line with change control processes.
- Conduct network performance tuning and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and optimize connectivity.
- Develop and maintain documentation—network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), configuration backups, and security policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT operations, cybersecurity, and senior management to align network infrastructure with business goals.
- Stay current with emerging network and security technologies, best practices, and Cisco certification paths (CCNP Enterprise/Security, CCIE, etc.).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Strong command of networking protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, NAT, VPNs.
- Familiarity with Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, or CCNP Security preferred.
- Skilled in firewall rule management, VPN configuration, ACL implementation, and high availability setups.
- Proficiency in network tools like Wireshark, Cisco Prime, or SolarWinds for troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver results independently and within a team environment.
- Nice-to-Have (Optional): Experience with automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Cisco DNA Center).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN, SDN, MPLS, or other advanced networking architectures.
- Exposure to multi-vendor environments (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto) or layered security systems. IT-Online Indeed
