<Duties>
- Install, configure, and support LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), and telecommunication systems to ensure robust connectivity.
- Manage network security protocols including firewalls (Cisco ASA), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and IDS to safeguard organizational data.
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk; troubleshoot issues related to routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS to maintain optimal operation.
- Implement and support network infrastructure components including Cisco routers, Meraki devices, Juniper equipment, SAN (Storage Area Network), and data center hardware.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and participate in vulnerability mitigation activities utilizing PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), and encryption techniques.
- Automate network tasks using scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, and tools like Ansible for efficient system administration.
- Support cloud security initiatives by managing AWS environments, virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere, Citrix solutions, and ensuring high availability configurations across systems.
- Assist with network installation projects involving DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), DNS (Domain Name System), GPO (Group Policy Objects), SFTP/FTP/HTTPS protocols for secure data transfer.
- Collaborate within an Agile environment to improve network architecture and support DevOps practices for continuous integration/deployment workflows.
<Experience>
- Proven experience in computer networking with a focus on LAN/WAN design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on knowledge of Cisco ISE for identity services; Cisco ASA firewalls; Meraki cloud-managed networking; Juniper devices; and open-source OS such as Debian, CentOS, openSUSE, Ubuntu, BSD variants like Solaris or FreeBSD.
- Familiarity with data center environments including SAN storage management; virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere; cloud platforms like AWS; and network security tools including SSO solutions and SSL/TLS encryption.
- Strong understanding of routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP; TCP/IP stack fundamentals; VPN technologies; load balancing techniques; and network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or PRTG.
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments using Splunk or SolarWinds; managing Active Directory/LDAP authentication systems; scripting for automation purposes; and supporting remote access software solutions.
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices for service management; familiarity with SDLC processes; experience supporting telecommunication systems including VoIP and QoS configurations.
- Educational background in computer science or related fields is preferred along with certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or equivalent experience in network engineering roles.
