We are looking for a detail-oriented and punctual Part-Time Accountant to manage MLC College’s bookkeeping, accounting activities, and assist in auditing Located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy in financial records, timely reporting, and smooth financial operations for Canada college.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting records of the college.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and petty cash management.
- Prepare financial statements, monthly reports, and balance sheets.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including documentation and compliance checks.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary information for audits.
- Monitor and ensure timely payment of salaries, fees, and vendor invoices.
- Provide financial insights and support management in decision-making.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data In QuickBooks
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in education or service sector.
- Proficient in QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and HST compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred:
- Experience in assisting audits and preparing audit schedules.
- Knowledge of payroll management and statutory compliance
Working Hours:
- Part-time, flexible hours to be discussed (approx. 25 hours/week Working Canada hours)
