Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services for patients requiring non-emergency medical trips. In this vital role, you will be responsible for transporting clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other healthcare-related destinations while ensuring their comfort and safety. Your positive attitude and excellent driving skills will help enhance the overall patient experience and support their access to essential healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate various vehicles including shuttle buses, and paratransit vans to transport patients to scheduled appointments.
• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous customer service at all times.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety compliance before each shift.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any issues promptly.
• Handle heavy lifting when assisting patients with mobility devices or luggage, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage logs, and passenger details in accordance with company policies.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies to ensure a secure transportation environment.

Skills

• Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine service with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of paratransit operations and commercial driving regulations.
• Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with diverse clients and team members.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting passengers or handling equipment.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues early.
• Experience with school bus driving or other specialized transportation roles is a plus.
