NURSE CLINICIAN (PEDIATRIC INPATIENT WARD)

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s, or Associate Degree/Diploma in Nursing is required.

-Four (4) years of nursing experience with Bachelor’s, or six (6) years with Associate Degree

/Diploma is required.

-Current Registered Nurse Licensure from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties

Licensure is required.

- Experience as a preceptor for nurses; completion of preceptor course; teaching experience (in

clinical or academic setting) is required.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Supports the provision of safe patient and family focused quality care. Provides comprehensive

clinically focused staff orientation and professional development within area(s) of specialization utilizing the professional practice model.

1. Collaborates with the appropriate education coordinator(s) to ensure the educational needs of

the assigned unit(s)/clinic(s) and/or group of nurses are met through development and

coordination of educational programs for staff at unit level.

2. Contributes to improve the knowledge and skills of professional nurses at the Hospital.

3. Collaborates with staff, head nurse, Nursing Education colleagues, and others to establish

education plan(s) for area(s) of responsibility.

4. Assists in maintaining a suitable learning environment and acts as a preceptor/mentor in the

supervision and teaching of nursing students and new staff to develop their competence.

5. Demonstrates collaborative multidisciplinary partnerships working towards the achievements of constant improvement in quality patient care.

6. Acts as a clinical and professional role model and mentor at the unit level.

7. Promotes and shares knowledge via mentorship in line with relevant research and evidence

based practice. Establishes processes for learning and promotes the use of evidence based

practice at the unit level.

8. Acts as a nursing consultant to the multidisciplinary team on clinical nursing practice for

different patient populations.

9. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to achieve improved clinical practice and patient satisfaction for the patient and their family members.

10. Liaises with internal and external organizations in the exchange of information,

benchmarking and in the coordination of activities relating to best practice in clinical specialty.

11. Reviews nurse sensitive indicator data and leads initiatives to achieve at or better than benchmark results.

12. Reports equipment failures, safety and security issues, and/or reduction of supply inventory

to head nurse or designee.

13. Contributes to the achievement of cost efficiency savings in assigned area. Maintains an

awareness of resource utilization, exercising care in the ordering, and use of equipment and materials.

14. Initiates and contributes to special projects/assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities

and professional practice model at unit level.

15. Develops and sustains own knowledge, skills, and professional awareness and maintains a

professional profile. Provides documented evidence of performance and maintenance of skill consistent with position.

16. Participates in patient education programs.

17. Follow all Hospital related policies and procedures.
