Nurse Practitioner for Rheumatology Practice Part Time or Full Time

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including physical examinations and medical history reviews specific to rheumatologic conditions
  • Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices and innovative therapies such as Botulinum toxin treatments when appropriate
  • Manage medication administration, including injections and IV infusions, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols
  • Perform diagnostic assessments using EMR systems like Epic and Athenahealth to document findings accurately and efficiently
  • Educate patients on disease management, medication usage, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care strategies
  • Assist with clinical research initiatives aimed at improving rheumatology treatments and patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with physicians and specialists in acute care settings, including hospital and ICU environments, to coordinate complex patient care plans

Skills

  • Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and ECW for documentation and clinical workflows
  • Efficiently able to type (type speed) notes to finish in timely manner and complete tasks in EMR
  • Rheumatology Experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to rheumatology.
  • Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10 coding standards for accurate medical documentation and billing processes
  • Experience working across diverse healthcare settings such as outpatient clinics.
  • Ability to manage triage calls effectively and provide acute pain management or urgent care interventions when necessary
  • Competence in telehealth platforms for remote consultations and follow-up visits
  • Excellent patient care skills with a focus on behavioral health support for individuals with chronic illnesses or disabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients and their medical records.
  • Part-time and Full time Position negotiable
  • Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays, etc.).
  • Diagnose and propose treatments for autoimmune and arthritic diseases.
  • Prescribe medications and IV Infusion Treatments.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules.
  • Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications.
  • Educate patients and their family members on diseases and treatment plans.
  • Oversee patients’ overall health and promote good health practices.
  • Advance professional knowledge and conduct research.
  • Other duties as assigned by the collaborating physician.
