Nursery Attendant

Overview

We are seeking a caring and experienced Attendant to join our team. This position is Sunday mornings only, 2-5 hours depending on events. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and have a strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment. The Attendant will be responsible for supporting the care and development of children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.

Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality childcare to children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers.
- Plan and execute engaging activities and games to promote learning and social skills.
- Assist in preparing meals and snacks, ensuring the health and safety of the children.
- Manage classroom activities, including setting up and cleaning up after lessons and activities.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Provide first aid and basic care as needed.
- Develop and maintain a strong rapport with children, fostering a sense of trust and respect.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
- Keep accurate records of children's progress, behavior, and daily activities.

Skills

- Experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education settings.
- Strong understanding of infant care and childhood development principles.
- Experience in a classroom setting, with a focus on creating engaging and interactive lessons.
- Proven experience in behavior management, with the ability to adapt to individual needs.
- Familiarity with first aid and basic care techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as furniture or supplies.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and obtain any necessary certifications.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
