Nursing Administration
- Oversee daily nursing operations across all departments.
- Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing in every shift.
- Supervise nursing officers, ward in-charges, and staff nurses.
- Conduct regular rounds to ensure quality patient care.
Patient Care Management
- Ensure patients receive safe, timely, and ethical nursing care.
- Monitor adherence to nursing protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Address patient or attendant complaints related to nursing services.
- Coordinate with doctors for smooth patient treatment and procedures.
Staff Management & Training
- Recruit, orient, and evaluate nursing staff.
- Conduct training programs, skill updates, and competency assessments.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, and professional behavior among nurses.
- Identify training needs and arrange continuous nursing education.
Policy & Protocol Implementation
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, NABH standards, and legal guidelines.
- Monitor documentation quality (nursing notes, vitals charts, medication records).
- Implement infection control protocols and biomedical waste management rules.
Resource & Inventory Control
- Ensure availability of nursing supplies, consumables, medicines, and equipment.
- Verify stock registers and coordinate with pharmacy and stores.
- Prevent wastage and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with medical administration, ward in-charges, housekeeping, pharmacy, and lab teams.
- Attend management meetings and provide nursing-related updates.
- Coordinate during emergencies, mass casualty events, or code situations.
Quality Assurance & Audits
- Conduct nursing audits, patient feedback reviews, and ward inspections.
- Implement corrective actions for quality improvement.
- Monitor hygiene, safety, and discipline across all nursing units.
Emergency & Crisis Management
- Lead nursing team during emergency situations (ICU crisis, casualty cases).
- Ensure readiness of emergency equipment and crash carts.
- Conduct mock drills with emergency response teams.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain nursing records, staff performance reports, and incident reports.
- Prepare monthly nursing department analytics for management.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient data.
Ethical & Professional Standards
- Promote compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive patient care.
- Handle grievances of nursing staff in a professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality, discipline, and hospital ethics.
