- Policy and compliance: Implementing and enforcing hospital policies, procedures, and compliance with healthcare regulations and clinical standards.
- Communication and coordination: Serving as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, administration, and other departments to ensure effective communication.
- Quality assurance: Implementing quality improvement activities, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Qualifications and skills
- Education: Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing), with a Master's degree in Nursing (MSc Nursing) often preferred.
- Experience: Requires significant clinical and leadership experience, often 15 years in hospital nursing.
