Job Title: Nursing Superintendent

Reports To: Chairman /Sr. Consultants/MD/ED/Admin Head

Job Responsibilities Clinical & Nursing Administration

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all nursing units and services
  • Ensure delivery of safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care
  • Develop, implement, and review nursing policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Ensure compliance with hospital standards, accreditation, and regulatory requirements

Staff Management

  • Supervise Ward Sisters, and nursing staff
  • Participate in recruitment, orientation, training, and performance appraisal of nursing staff
  • Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Promote discipline, teamwork, and professional conduct

Quality & Patient Safety

  • Monitor nursing care standards and patient safety practices
  • Investigate patient complaints and nursing-related incidents
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives and audits
  • Ensure proper infection control practices

Education & Training

  • Identify training needs and organize in-service education programs
  • Encourage continuing education and professional development
  • Support nursing students’ clinical training (if applicable)

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with medical staff, administration, and support services
  • Participate in hospital committees and meetings
  • Prepare reports related to nursing services and patient care

Resource Management

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of nursing equipment and supplies
  • Assist in budgeting and cost-control measures related to nursing services

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing (M.Sc. preferred)
  • Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM)
  • Valid nursing council registration

Experience

  • Minimum 5–10 years of clinical and administrative nursing experience
  • At least 3–5 years in a senior nursing leadership role

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of hospital policies, NABH standards
  • Ability to manage teams and handle critical situations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
