Role Purpose

The Nursing Superintendent is responsible for the overall management of nursing services. You will ensure the highest quality of patient care, maintain strict clinical discipline, manage nursing rotations, and uphold the hospital's reputation as a leader in mother and child healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Leadership & Quality Control

  • Standards of Care: Define and implement nursing protocols specifically for Obstetrics, Gynecology, NICU, and Pediatrics.
  • Patient Safety: Monitor infection control practices and ensure 100% adherence to safety protocols in the Labor Room and Operation Theaters.
  • Rounds: Conduct daily clinical rounds to assess patient satisfaction and ensure nursing care plans are being followed accurately.

2. Staff Management & Administration

  • Rostering: Manage nursing shifts and duty rosters to ensure optimal coverage 24/7, adjusting for peak patient volumes as needed.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist the HR Manager in technical interviews and competency mapping for new nursing hires.
  • Discipline: Maintain professional conduct among the nursing staff, addressing grievances and taking disciplinary action when necessary.

3. Training & Development

  • Continuing Education: Organise weekly bedside training and workshops on neonatal resuscitation (NRP), breastfeeding support, and emergency obstetric care.
  • Orientation: Oversee the clinical induction of junior nurses (minimum 1-year experience) to ensure they meet the hospital’s high standards.

4. Compliance & Inventory Management

  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure all nursing licenses are up to date and that the nursing department complies with NABH/hospital licensing standards.
  • Equipment & Supplies: Oversee the inventory of life-saving equipment (ventilators, warmers, monitors) and ensuring the pharmacy/consumable stock in wards is maintained.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: M.Sc Nursing or B.Sc Nursing. A Diploma in Nursing Administration is a significant advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years in nursing, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (Head Nurse or Supervisor).
  • Specialty Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Women & Child care (NICU, Labor Room, and Pediatric procedures).
  • Leadership: Strong decision-making skills, the ability to handle high-stress emergency situations, and excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between doctors and staff.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,833.03 - ₹75,838.44 per month
