Nursing Superintendent

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct all nursing services of the hospital.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with NABH / JCI / statutory regulations.
  • Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Participate in hospital management meetings.
  • Maintain nursing records and documentation systems.
  • Assist in budget preparation for nursing department.

2. Clinical Responsibilities

  • Ensure high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Monitor nursing practices and clinical procedures.
  • Implement infection control policies.
  • Supervise medication administration and patient monitoring.
  • Address patient complaints related to nursing care.
  • Ensure proper handover procedures and clinical audits.

3. Staff Management & Supervision

  • Recruit, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
  • Conduct performance appraisals.
  • Organize continuing nursing education (CNE) programs.
  • Ensure discipline and adherence to hospital policies.
  • Mentor and guide Deputy Nursing Superintendent, Ward In-Charges, and Staff Nurses.

4. Quality & Compliance

  • Implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure biomedical waste management compliance.
  • Monitor incident reports and corrective actions.
  • Participate in accreditation processes (NABH/NABL).

5. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with doctors, paramedical staff, and administration.
  • Participate in medical board meetings.
  • Maintain effective communication within the nursing team.
  • Liaise with external agencies when required.

6. Inventory & Resource Management

  • Oversee procurement and maintenance of nursing supplies.
  • Ensure proper use of equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels and prevent wastage.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing (Preferred)
  • Registered Nurse & Registered Midwife (RN & RM)
  • Valid Nursing Council Registration

Experience:

  • Minimum 11–15 years of clinical experience.
  • At least 5–7 years in a supervisory/managerial role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹75,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
