JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Nursing Superintendent will act as the Liaison Officer between the unit and the Medical Director. Responsible for nursing care management, Treatment Quality & patient experience. Nursing Superintendent is expected to work independently in connection with the Nursing administration of the institution, in the most effective way. Participate in the formulation of the philosophy of the hospital specific to nursing services.
  • To monitor & ensure cost effectiveness in nursing processes & suggest ways to control costs
  • Determine goals, aims, objectives and policies of the Nursing Services & its implementation according to the organization SOP.
  • Decide and recommends personnel and material requirement for running various Nursing Service departments of the Hospital
  • Interview and recruits Nursing staff & auxiliary staff (CSSD, ICN, Nurse Educator etc) in coordination with HR
  • Make regular Hospital rounds in Hospitals, Wards & check on OT.
  • Ensure standard care is rendered and patients are nursed in a clean, orderly and safe environment.
  • Ensure proper medical equipment is in place as per the patient requirements & check all emergency equipment is in working condition.
  • Prepare duty roster, plans staff leave.
  • Conduct & participate in hospital and intra-Hospital meetings / conferences & prepare training calenders in coordination with ICN/Quality
  • Investigate complaints and takes necessary steps.
  • Maintain necessary records concerning to Nursing Staff.
  • Regular updation & escalation to medical director on various issues.
  • Ensure practice of hospital infection control & hospital waste management policies.
  • Collect incident report whenever required and suggest remedial measures.
  • Attend to emergency calls. Visit hospital beyond duty hours when required.
  • Define inventory level at wards & guidance to be given to maintain crash cart trolley general stock, & other ward med equipment
  • Responsible for biomedical hazard & biomedical waste management & ensure that equipment and processes for the same are in place.
  • Follow & ensure that others follow appropriate universal precautions & hospital waste disposal rules & regulations.
  • Assist in measures directed towards mass, casualty and disasters.
  • Periodic visits to Hostel to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Maintain basic hospital unit utilization stats (Bed Occupancy, ALOS, Bed Turn Over, In patient Bed Days, Midnight census)

Job Specifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications : MSc/B.Sc. GNM Nursing
  • Minimum 8-15 years experience
  • Ability to converse in local language, hindi and English.
  • Ability to manage and lead teams.
