Role Purpose:
To ensure excellence in patient care, the supervising staff to deliver nursing services in a professional and comprehensive manner,in seamless coordination with allied disciplines such as consultants, operations/PRO, pharmacy, dietetics, maintenance, etc.
Key responsibilities of LABOUR WARD STAFF NURSE:
Essential Functions:
· Models organization core values and promotes translation of these values into work practices. Ensure quality standards are maintained: NABH
· Develops short and long-term goals and objectives for the unit.
· Accepts accountability for services through which direct nursing care is given to patients.
· Works with team in rendering professional nursing care as and when required.
· Promotes and maintains a good working relationship among nursing personnel, medical staff, other hospital employees, patients and public.
· Ensures customer-friendly service is promoted to the staff through role modeling.
· Provides clinical and administrative support to all units/dept. in the hospital after hours.
· Maintains an effective and open line of communication.
· Participates in nursing policy formulation and decision-making.
· Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of nursing care, including documentation,
and makes appropriate changes in nursing care delivery and overall organization of the unit.
· Conducts daily ward rounds to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve service/quality issues
with follow through,
· Provides written performance reports at routine intervals for units/ward assigned.
Ensures appropriate orientation, training and continuing education for personnel to maintain
the level of competency of the unit.
· Nurtures staff development through mentoring and role modeling, i.e. by promoting
and facilitating competency-based training and in-service.
· Identify training needs for the unit.
· Provides a climate conducive to educational experience for nursing students.
· Participates and involves nursing staff in nursing committees and research.
· Acts as a resource person to the Matron on matters pertaining to the unit.
· Acts as a mediator in situations of conflict or grievance.
· Provides counseling to staff/patients as and when situation arises.
· Maintains self-professional growth and development including subordinates and
peers through seminars, workshops and professional affiliation.
· Supervises, evaluates and appraises staff work performance using job description.
· Schedules staff to ensure that there is qualified staff maintained in adequate
proportion to patient acuity and census.
· Ensures cost control and efficient use of manpower.
· Performs any other duties as directed by the Matron.
· Establishes inventory standards for medications, supplies and equipment.
· Plans, monitors and is accountable for the budget of the unit.

Pay: ₹32,000.00 - ₹38,000.00 per month
