OBSTERICS & GYNECOLOGY - ASSISTANT /ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Obstetrics & Gynecology specialist to join our academic faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor. The role involves clinical teaching, patient care, research, and academic leadership in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to patients
  • Manage antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological cases
  • Perform and supervise obstetric and gynecological procedures and surgeries
  • Participate in labor ward duties, outpatient clinics, and emergency care
  • Supervise residents, interns, and junior doctors in clinical practice

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures, bedside teaching, seminars, and case-based discussions
  • Train undergraduate and postgraduate medical students
  • Develop and update curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment methods
  • Supervise postgraduate dissertations, theses, and research projects
  • Participate in examinations and academic evaluations

Research Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed indexed journals
  • Participate in clinical trials and academic research activities
  • Guide students and residents in research methodology
  • Apply for research grants and contribute to academic development

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees
  • Contribute to accreditation and quality assurance processes
  • Support academic planning and curriculum development
  • Mentor junior faculty and clinical staff

Qualifications & Requirements:

For Assistant Professor:

  • MBBS with MD / MS / DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology (or equivalent recognized qualification)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching or clinical experience in a recognized institution
  • Evidence of research publications in peer-reviewed journals (preferred)

For Associate Professor:

  • MBBS with MD / MS / DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology (or equivalent recognized qualification)
  • Minimum 5–8 years of teaching and/or clinical experience in a teaching hospital
  • Strong record of publications in indexed/peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience in supervising postgraduate students
  • Proven academic and clinical leadership experience

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong clinical and surgical skills in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Excellent teaching and mentoring abilities
  • Research-oriented mindset with analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary academic environment

Licensing / Additional Requirements (Bahrain / GCC – Preferred):

  • Eligibility for medical licensing with relevant authority (e.g., NHRA – Bahrain)
  • Experience in accredited teaching hospitals or universities preferred
